SRS Group was engaged to upgrade the Te Wao Nui Swing Bridge at Auckland Zoo, ensuring the structure meets modern safety standards while preserving its natural aesthetic.

Our scope included:

• Supply and installation of Carl Stahl X-TEND® stainless steel mesh in black, using 1.5mm x 40mm mesh configuration for a secure yet visually unobtrusive barrier.
• Integration of structural cables in 4mm, 8mm, and 12mm diameters, providing strength and stability for the bridge’s suspension system.
• Facilitation of PS1 engineering, guaranteeing compliance with New Zealand building and safety codes.

This upgrade combines durability, safety, and design sensitivity, allowing visitors to experience the immersive environment of Te Wao Nui with confidence. The use of X-TEND® mesh and precision cable rigging reflects SRS Group’s expertise in delivering complex tensile solutions for public spaces.
