Hayman Park Playground – Destination Play in the Heart of Manukau

About The Project
Hayman Park Playground is a landmark project within Auckland’s Transform Manukau regeneration initiative, delivering New Zealand’s tallest play tower and creating a vibrant destination for families across Tāmaki Makaurau. Designed by Athfield Architects and Wraight + Associates and built by HEB Construction, the playground features two timber towers reaching up to 12.8 metres high, connected by rope bridges, slides, and climbing elements. It offers inclusive play opportunities for all ages, complemented by nature play zones, pump tracks, and basketball courts.
SRS Group were contracted by HEB Construction to supply and install the striking red X-Tend stainless steel mesh infill panels and galvanised steel frames that form the safety and aesthetic backbone of the towers. Our scope also included painted canopy structures and handrails, ensuring durability and visual cohesion within the playground’s bold design. These elements required precision fabrication and installation to integrate seamlessly with the complex timber superstructure.
