SRS Group Showcased by NZSSDA: Stainless Steel Excellence at Wynyard Wharf

SRS Group’s craftsmanship and attention to detail have been featured by the New Zealand Stainless Steel Development Association (NZSSDA) in their latest article, Where the Wharf Meets the Sea.

The feature highlights our recent work delivering precision-engineered balustrading for Auckland’s historic Wynyard Wharf, a project that called for innovation, endurance, and aesthetic clarity in one of the city’s most distinctive waterfront settings.

Working alongside LandLabRonstan Tensile ArchitectureCarl Stahl ARC GmbH, and other partners, our team combined stainless steel engineering with handcrafted detailing to create over 700 lineal metres of architectural balustrade and gates, balancing contemporary design with the heritage integrity of the wharf. The result is a robust, elegant system that enhances public safety while complementing the area’s industrial character.

The NZSSDA article explores the technical challenge behind the project—from avoiding rebar beneath the aged deck structure to fine-tuning baseplate heights and finishes. It also highlights the use of Carl Stahl X-Tend® mesh, selected for its transparency, durability, and maintenance-free performance in the marine environment, topped with hardwood handrails for a warm, refined finish.

This project exemplifies what SRS Group does best: combining practical engineering expertise with aesthetic precision to deliver custom architectural rigging and stainless solutions that stand the test of time.
