About the project

Project

SRS was subcontracted by NZ Strong to manufacture and install the new 131m boardwalk at Auckland Zoo in the upgraded South East Asia Jungle Track. This boardwalk, with its complex curves, weaves it way, at height, across the Zoo’s lake and connects all the South East Asia habitats.

The finished product is something to behold and is indicative of the seamless workmanship between SRS’s Fabrication and Rigging departments. We used the ever reliable, durable, warrantied, German Carl Stahl X-Tend black tensile mesh infill in our fabricated curved steel balustrade, 3400kg of steel hot dip galvanised and painted to AS/NZ standards, installed on site from the orangutan and siamang shared shelter, past the newly opened swamp forest, onto the lowlands habitat for the otters and tigers.
