Leaders in custom metal fabrication
SRS has fast become one of New Zealand’s most trusted high-end metal fabricators, and it’s our end-to-end service that makes us such a great option for all your metal fabrication needs.
Custom metal fabrication is the process of cutting, moulding or shaping raw or semi-finished metal to create an end product – rather than assembling it from ready-made components. At SRS, our fabrication process is completely bespoke and depends on the metal selected as well as the desired end product. We use materials and designs crafted specifically for each individual project, so no two jobs will ever be the same.
Don’t just take our word for it. Recently, we were proud to be named as one of the top metal fabrication businesses in Auckland by Top Reviews NZ.
OUR METAL FABRICATION PROCESS
With a trusted team of experienced in-house quantity surveyors (QS), project managers, CAD designers and metal fabricators, we can take care of the complete fabrication process from start to finish.
First, our project manager will work with you to establish your requirements – visiting your site to clarify the space and take measurements. When we’ve gathered all the required information, our in-house QS will investigate pricing option. Then, using the latest CAD technology, we will develop a design concept that fits your budget and expectations. Once you’re happy, our in-house team can manage the custom fabrication and finishing process, before taking care of the on-site installation.
If you already have a design and working drawings created, even better! Bring it to us and we’ll happily craft a quote to fabricate and deliver your product – no matter how complex.
WHATEVER YOUR INDUSTRY, WE HAVE THE FABRICATION SERVICE THAT’S RIGHT FOR YOU
Our customer-focused, solution-oriented service means we stick around until the job’s done – and done to the best possible standard. So, whether you have a new project or just require maintenance or repair, talk to us today. Our services are extensive and we cover most markets and industries.
CIVIL & INFRASTRUCTURE
SRS Group understands that in the civil construction industry there’s a lot riding on meeting deadlines. Our ability to manage large, complex construction projects, partnering seamlessly with lead and sub-contractors, has seen us selected to deliver many iconic, large-scale jobs around the country – including significant roading and bridging projects. We’ve established relationships built on trust with all those we’ve worked with – from councils to government departments and construction groups. In 2020, SRS Group was hand-picked to join an exclusive panel of experts as bridge design consultants for Auckland System Management (ASM). We work with Waka Kotahi (NZTA) and Panuku Development Auckland, offering our design expertise in the production of bridges across our regional transportation systems. Our fabricated framing systems and tensile mesh panel installations have been used on iconic bridges and transport network systems across the wider Auckland region, providing striking yet functional anti-throw and fall protection safety measures.
LEADERS IN HIGH-END RESIDENTIAL FABRICATION
Our fabricators love a challenge! They thrive on thinking outside the square to come up with innovative design solutions for high-end residential homes. We’ve worked on a number of complex fabrication projects, delivering everything from bespoke metal kitchen and atrium feature lighting, to bath ‘sleeves’ and fireplace surrounds – always ensuring our designs tie in with the rest of the residence’s interior. Even the most intricate speciality balustrades are carefully designed and fabricated in-house to perfectly match the aesthetics of any architecturally designed home.
No matter how complicated the job, our customer-centric approach sees us combine our expertise with your vision to deliver superb bespoke fabrications from a variety of metals.
YOUR GO-TO FOR COMMERCIAL AND CIVIL FABRICATION
Architects and designers often approach us to solve tricky commercial fabrication problems, and we’re happy to help. At SRS, on top of our green wall, rigging and fabrication solutions, we offer a number of complementary services for the commercial market – all of which are more cost-efficient because they’re delivered in-house.
On occasion, architects will come to us for just our fabrication services. Our first in-house fabricator joined the SRS team in 2016 to craft planter boxes for our green façade and screens. Today, our fabrication team has grown to fifteen people, and our creations span much further than green wall planter boxes.
Our specialist fabricators undertake a myriad of different tasks – from balustrades for interior and exterior spaces (including fire exits), to commercial planter box systems for luxury inner city apartments, clothes racking and storage for retail fit outs, custom pergolas for apartment complexes and even the iconic clock tower at Auckland’s Karaka shopping centre.
BALUSTRADE FABRICATION EXPERTS
Balustrades walk a delicate line when it comes to requirements; they are primarily for safety but need to look the part too. Our fabrication team are experts in civil and commercial balustrades and understand how to bring together great design with the necessary protection measures. We also work on large, complex residential balustrades – from extensive apartment balustrading for large complexes, where cost is a driving component, to a one-off brass exterior balustrade on a high-spec Waiheke Island home.
Our specialised Fabrication division is experienced in welding, cutting, bending, forming and machining our products to deliver stylish, functional balustrading and bespoke fabrication creations.
Over the past four years, SRS Group has brought a number of complicated fabrication concepts to life, predominantly utilising mild steel, aluminium, corten and stainless steel, but also occasionally the likes of brass and copper. We can work with you to ensure you select the best possible material to reach the desired outcome of your project.
Our welding services are comprehensive. Welding is the process of bringing two or more pieces of metal together through a combination of heat and pressure. The pieces of metal can be any shape or size, making them a popular choice for a wide range of metal fabrication needs. Our on-site welding service extends to Arc Welding, MIG Welding and TIG Welding.
The right materials for the job.
In order to guarantee the strength of every job we complete, we're pretty selective when it comes to the right materials. That's why we prefer to use materials like 316 marine grade stainless steel. Whether the project is at sea, at home, or at the office, 316 provides a long lasting, low maintenance, non-corrosive solution, which works for everyone - people, animals and plants alike!
